Bodacious Book Covers

"Don't judge a book by its cover." Now, how many times has this been quoted to you? Or, how many times have you heard it? Well, although that may be true, the covers can be what may lead you to or to not buy a book, regardless of how good it is. To help you out, I've created a list of novels that have covers that are equal to their inner amazingness. Let's begin!

1) The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer

For those of you who haven't heard of this series, you better hop on the band wagon! This series is one roller coaster of a ride! 

In my humble opinion, words cannot truly encapsulate how much I love this series. From the characters to the setting and the dialogue, Marissa Meyer has crafted a world that will forever burn into my memory. 

2) To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han

No matter how many contemporary YA books I read, TATBILB always has a special place in my heart (and shelf). 

Told from the point of view of a girl who writes love letters to boys, this book may seem a tad bit too girly for some. But reading through it made me realize that it was so much more than a love story. It's about family, friendship, and growing up. 

3) Very Good Lives by J. K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling wrote this. Need I say more? 

4) The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

TFIOS (you've probably heard of it so I won't put a description on that) 

5) P. S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han

I don't want to spoil anything, so I'll just say that it's the sequel to TATBILB. 

6) Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Set about 20 years ago, Eleanor and Park is a story of two teens and how they go through how they are treated in high school. Filled with music, comics, and witty dialogue, this book is one that any YA lover shouldn't miss.

5 Books for the Holiday Season

Are you feeling the sweater weather and the Christmas Starbucks drinks? Do you find yourself constantly looking for a good book to pair with the season? If yes, I've got the solution for you! Here are my top five holiday book recommendations. Please note that these are in no particular ranking! :)

1. Let It Snow by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and David Levithan 

To be frank, I will read any John Green YA book. I really, truly would. And as most of his books go, this definitely didn't disappoint. Filled with love, hashbrowns, and lots of snow, this is one Christmas story that will make you go "ho ho ho!" 

2. My True Love Gave to Me by various authors

Filled with a diversity of twelve stories by twelve YA authors, you're bound to find at least one tale that will make an impact on you, even if just in a little laugh or memorable quotation. In my case, I favored Jenny Han and Rainbow Rowell's stories the most. Why, you ask? You'll just have to read the book to find out! ;) 

3. The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater (Shiver, Linger, and Forever)

The first two books on my list were contemporary reads. It's now time for something more eerie and peculiar, in comparison. Paranormal events will occur in this book, as well as sassiness and snow. 

4. Home for the Holidays by Heather Vogel Frederick

This is the fifth installment in the Mother-Daughter Book Club Series, which I read earlier this year. Honestly, this series is under-hyped compared to a couple more middle-grade books for girls. The characters are heart-felt and relatable in the sense that they're all flawed in their own ways. Each of the girls in the book club each hold their own distinct personalities that represent how despite differences, they manage to get along pretty well. 

5. The Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling 

All that I can say is that re-reading a couple of your favorite books can help ignite the holiday spirit of joy.

1. Delirium by Lauren Oliver 

Isn't it pretty? I for one am a fan of sunsets and lavender. Are you? 

2. House of Hades by Rick Riordan

This cover is just... All the feels. The Heroes of Olympus is definitely a must read. 

3. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han 

This book contains a lot of relatable characters and cute things like cookies and Christmas trees. The cover has a perfect Lara Jean. 

4. Exile by Shannon Messenger

Shiny. Very shiny. This book is an easy read and a good way to spend your afternoon. 

5. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

This cover is very loyal to the book. A great movie tie in edition.
