The Mysterious Benedict Society  Book Review

"ARE YOU A GIFTED CHILD LOOKING FOR SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES?"
When this ad appears in the newpaper, an "average looking", but gifted orphan boy named Reynie Muldoon takes a chance and takes a mind bending test like no other. After passing the consecutive tests he meets Sticky Washington,a boy with photographic memory, Kate Wetherall, a girl with a peculiar red bucket with practical things, and Constance Contraire, a very short and ignorant girl. They all form the Mysterious Benedict Society. Mr. Benedict, the head of the society, has all drawn them together for a very important mission. He has discovered ,through a device that he has created, that in an island nearby, there have been signs of hypnotising mind controlling transmissions which can cause plenty of harm if in the wrong hands.. In order to stop the transmissions, the four children must put everything at risk and become spies by disguising themselves as students at the island . Through this adventurous, lip curling adventure, you will see yourself  in each of the children in chunks, or little bits. While reading it, you may also" test your wits beside them" with the peculiar puzzles in the book to see if you also have what it "takes to be part of,"The Mysterious Benedict Society."

The author, Trenton Lee Stewart, is a New York Times bestselling author. His favorite superhero is Spiderman, and he loves chocolate chip cookie dough more than anything.
English was his favorite subject in school. He also spends a lot of time being mysterious.

I really enjoyed the book because I  like solving puzzles and being creative. The illustrations by "Diana Sudyka" are very cool and interesting. This is a good read for ten- year- olds and above( even adults!) who appreciate  a good puzzle every now and then. If you like reading adventure and mystery books, you will surely enjoy this a lot. The  MBS also has two more sequels ( The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilious Journey, And the Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma) and a puzzle book ( the Mysterious Benedict Society: Mr. Benedict's Book of Perplexing Puzzles, Elusive Enigmas, andCurious Conundrums) too. They are all wonderful to read.

I am a fan of the MBS because it has taught me to believe that there is always hope even in the darkest of times. The characters also taught me that even though they are all very different, they can still work together and be a team. It's so inspiring to see that even though they are just kids, they can make a big difference in the world.
